David Wesley Stump, 58 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on Monday, October 5, 2015.

The son of Guy Edwin and Barbara Louise (Bealmer) Stump, he was born on September 6, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was a 1975 graduate of the Schuyler R-I School District in Lancaster, Missouri. On December 6, 1980 at the Richland Baptist Church in Hitt, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Sue Crook and to this union two children were born, Barbi and Dane.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Stump of Lancaster, Missouri; his children, Barbi Akers and husband, Andy of Downing, Missouri and Dane Stump and wife, Kayle of Downing, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Ava and Acen Akers, Carter Dickerson, Liam and Waylon Stump all of Downing, Missouri; two brothers, Gary and Kristie Stump of Lancaster, Missouri and Tim and Karen Stump of Kansas City, Missouri; step mother, Margaret Stump of Camdenton, Missouri; mother-in-law, Freda Crook of Memphis, Missouri; step sister and brothers, Kathy Hodel and husband, Art of Camdenton, Missouri, John McCartney of Columbia, Missouri and Roddy McCartney of Gravois Mills, Missouri; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; other family members and many, many good friends coast to coast.

His parents and his father-in-law, Harry Crook, precede David in death.

David was a very spiritual member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri. He was a self-employed rancher who raised exotic animals known by people near and far. He was a husband, father, Papa whose grandchildren brought him the greatest joy and who would mentor to anyone who would listen!

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri with H. R. Rogers, Pastor of the United Methodist Church assisted by Pastor Leanna van Zandt officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Susan Shepherd and pianist, Joni Newland. Special selections will be "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "Amazing Grace". Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery at a later date as the body has been cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
