David Lee Phillips, 64, of Worthington, Missouri passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
The son of Roy Henry and Barbara Genevieve (Zabukovez) Phillips, he was born on February 9, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Limestone Community High School in Peoria, Illinois. At the time of his death, David was an over the road truck driver for Lucerne Feed Mill in Lucerne, Missouri.
David is survived by his daughter, Michelle Ferdig of Queen City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Angela Lynch and husband, Lee of Queen City, Missouri, Heather Ferdig of Queen City, Missouri, Samantha Ferdig of Queen City, Missouri and Matthew Ferdig and wife, Elizabeth of Queen City, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Nataley Lynch, Aliza, Katelynn and Justin Gregory, Ayden Ferdig, Kamden Ferdig all of Queen City, Missouri and one on the way; three sisters, Carol Phillips of Pekin, Illinois, Sandy Picklesimer and husband, Lee of Edwardsville, Illinois and Kathy Wakeman and husband, Bob of Dupo, Illinois; one special friend, Janet Shilling of Worthington, Missouri; other family members and many good friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents; two great grandsons, Liam and Levi Ferdig.
David enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, camp, cook on his grill and just being with family. He was very devoted to his family and was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. His grandchildren were the twinkle in his eye and he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "I See Blue", "How Great Thou Art", "I Did It My Way" and "Peace In The Valley". Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family. Burial will be at a later date as the body has been cremated. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
