Danny Lowell Gillispie
September 27, 1943 – March 10, 2013

Danny Lowell Gillispie, 69 of Queen City, formerly of Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri where he had been a resident since April 2008.

The son of Charles Lowell and Wanda Elaine (Whitacre) Gillispie, Danny was born on September 27, 1943 in Centerville, Iowa. He attended and graduated from the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri.

Survivors include his children, Eddie Gillispie of Austin, Texas and Stephanie Mercurio of Glendale, Arizona; 2 grandchildren; 1 niece, Rachelle Coleman of Wichita, Kansas and 1 nephew, Sean Conner of Lawrence, Kansas; cousins, Patsy Hart and husband, Larry of Moberly, Missouri, John Kerby and wife, Suzanne of Greentop, Missouri, Debra Kerby of Kirksville, Missouri and Connie Henry and husband, Jim of Sterling, Illinois and other family members.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Gillispie on April 22, 1988 and Wanda Gillispie on October 21, 2002 and one sister, Janet Lurline Conner on June 28, 2000.

Following graduation from high school, Danny worked in banks in the Kirksville and Kansas City, Missouri areas.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
