Danny Dale Davis Sr.

December 30, 1950 – June 9, 2013

Danny Dale Davis, Sr, 62, of Queen City, Missouri died Sunday, June 09, 2013 peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and loved ones.


Danny was born December 30, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri to Lawrence Whitacre and Mary Alice (Lucas) Davis. He spent most of his early childhood in Rockford, Illinois before moving back to the Livonia, Missouri area. Danny served 2 years in Korea during the Vietnam era. Upon returning from serving his country, he moved to the Wisconsin area where he married and to that union, two children were born, Carissa Jean and Danny Dale Jr.


On August 9, 1997, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Katherine (Hansen) Davis. Danny was a welder by trade. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He enjoyed cooking and barbequing for his family and friends. He enjoyed visiting with anyone that had an ear. Danny loved to play his guitar at church. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Glenwood, Missouri. Danny had a strong faith in the Lord and was excited to begin his new journey.


He is survived by his wife of the home; his two children; two stepdaughters, Jill (Tye) Wolfe of Springfield, Missouri and Jennifer (Dan) McKinney of Memphis, Missouri, one stepson, Donald Hurley of Memphis, Missouri; one brother, Walter Leroy (Cathy) Davis of Splendora, Texas; two sisters, Alice (Richard) Jenkins of Jacksonville, Florida and Rebecca (Roger) Marvin of Unionville, Missouri and eight step grandchildren, Jaxom, Alexis, and Megan Wolfe, Adam Marino, Shane (Yvonne), Cory, Christopher, and Deana McKinney. He is also survived by two aunts, Josephine Mathes of Queen City, Missouri and Helen (Bill) Golston of Unionville, Missouri and one uncle, Paul (Mildred) Lucas of Novinger, Missouri as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. Danny was thought of as a Father by his DHM family of Iowa.


Danny was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joe, Larry, Clifford, and Carl Davis and one stepson, Chris Hurley.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at noon at the Glenwood Assembly of God Church in Glenwood, Missouri with Pastor Robin McCullar officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Davis, Dan McKinney, Colt Brown, Shane McKinney, Christopher Brown and Mike Gordon . Memorials have been established for the family.
