Charles Edwin Harris
February 7, 1926 – March 30, 2012

Charles Edwin Harris, 86 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri where he had been a resident since February 2012.

The son of Lee Charles and Elma Mary (Ramey) Harris, he was born on February 7, 1926 in rural Putnam County, Missouri. On July 27, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Frances Louise Ford and to this union two daughters were born, Nancy and Judy.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances of the Residential Care Center in Memphis, Missouri; 2 daughters, Nancy Miller and husband, Jim of Bloomfield, Iowa and Judy West and husband, John of Lancaster, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Megan Saffell and husband, Todd of Bloomfield, Iowa, Chris West and wife, Kala of Columbia, Missouri, Kimberly Boyd and husband, Kevin of Jefferson City, Missouri and Kirk West serving in the US Army in Fort Benning, Georgia; 4 great grandchildren, Calvin and Libby Saffell of Bloomfield, Iowa and Peyton and Owen Boyd of Jefferson City Missouri; 2 brothers, Robert Harris and wife, Camille of Bowling Green, Ohio and Howard Harris and wife, Shirley of Glenwood, Missouri and 1 sister, Mary Lucille Cramer and husband, Harold of Marion, Iowa; nieces nephews and other family members.
His parents preceded Eddie in death.

Eddie was a veteran of the Army Air Corp where he served in the Pacific during 1944 through 1946.

Eddie farmed all of his life and was able to live on the farm until February 6, 2012. He was very proud of his herd of Angus cattle and his John Deere machinery. He certainly enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Bob Welsh officiating. Pianist, Twila Anderson and soloist, Bob Welsh, will provide music. Special musical selections will be "In The Garden" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". Pallbearers will be Chris West, Kirk West, Todd Saffell, Kevin Boyd, Gary Kimbrell and Faron Mullinix. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Relay for Life. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri with military rites by the Scotland County VFW Post 4958. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
