Charles “Chuck” William Comstock, II

Charles “Chuck” William Comstock, II, 54 of Kirksville, Missouri passed away at his residence in Kirksville, Missouri on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The son of Charles William and Ardis Kay (Weilbrenner) Comstock, he was born on June 24, 1972 in Memphis, Missouri. He was a 1990 graduate of Schuyler County High School in Queen City, Missouri. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served two years. Chuck attended basic training at the Lackland Air Force Base and was serving during Desert Storm. Chuck did technical training at the Lowry Air Force Base and was also stationed at the Nellis Air Force Base. Chuck received an honorable hardship discharge from the United States Air Force and came home to help on the family farm. After his accident, he earned his B.A. in English from Truman State University.

On June 25, 2011, in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Melissa Ann White and to this union, two daughters were born, Arianna and Bianca.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Melissa Comstock of Kirksville, Missouri; two daughters, Arianna and Bianca Comstock of Kirksville, Missouri; his mother, Ardis Kay Comstock of Downing, Missouri; two sisters, Christine Parker and husband, Jamie of Memphis, Missouri and Kathy Greenstreet and husband, Todd of Downing, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; other family members and many good friends including his caregiver of over 20 years, Karen Haggy of Kirksville, Missouri.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Charles William Comstock on December 21, 2024 and one sister, Emily Ann Comstock on May 13, 2023.

Chuck was baptized as a young boy at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri and was a member of The Crossing Church-Kirksville, where he served on the security team and men’s prayer small group leader. Chuck also served on the Governor’s Council for Disabilities, past president for RAIL, advocacy specialist, was a substitute teacher for the Kirksville R-3 School District and was a sponsor for People First in Kirksville, Missouri

Chuck had many interests and passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Chuck never believed there were limitations to what he could do. He was an out-of-the-box thinker who could look at a challenge and find a way to make it work. His creativity and determination were evident in the adaptive tools he designed and made for himself so he could continue doing chores and taking care of things around the house. Above all, Chuck loved being there for his family. He especially loved attending his daughters’ activities and cheering them on. His adventurous spirit, quick wit and storytelling will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at The Crossing Church-Kirksville in Kirksville, Missouri with Brett Winder, Pastor of The Crossing Church-Kirksville officiating. Music will be special selections of “Simple Man” and “Dad”. Pallbearers will be Jason Schmitter, Billy Jackson, Christopher Comstock, Doug Ruth, Tommy Barrett and Stevan Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Slavin, Paul Detweiler, Jamie Parker and Todd Greenstreet. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at The Crossing Church-Kirksville. Memorials have been established for a college fund for his daughters’ education. Checks may be made payable to Melissa Comstock. Gillespie Post #4958 VFW of Memphis, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
