Carol Jean (Garrett) Seamster, 80 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Downing, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.
The daughter of Herbert "Red" Glen and Wilma June (Dalton) Garrett, she was born on September 22, 1945 in rural Scotland County, Missouri. She was a graduate of Downing High School in Downing, Missouri. On April 10, 1965 in Downing, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Adrian Seamster and to this union two children were born, Marti and Marla.
Carol is survived by her children, Marti McGoldrick and husband, Mike of Glenwood, Missouri and Marla Dufur and husband, David of Queen City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ashley Whitney and husband, Zach of Glenwood, Missouri, Caleb McGoldrick and wife, Riley of Lancaster, Missouri, Taylor Liska and husband, Haden of Eldon, Missouri and Preston Dufur and wife, Karley of Queen City, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Callum and Salem Whitney of Glenwood, Missouri, Madelynn and Hannah McGoldrick of Lancaster, Missouri and Kolbi and Charles Dufur of Queen City, Missouri; one brother, Lyle Garrett and wife Lana of Moberly, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Barbara Garrett of Waynesville, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; one great granddaughter, Jolene Faith Dufur; one sister, Nancy Bishop; two brothers, Glen Garrett and Loyd Garrett and wife, Maxine; one niece, Michelle Shern; one nephew, Tim Garrett and one brother-in-law, Dean Seamster and wife, Barbara.
Carol was a member of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri and she served as a past Alderman for the City of Downing. Carol and Charles helped with Downing Appreciation Days and ran the BINGO stand for many years. She was a cosmetologist for over 50 years. Carol was a social lady, who loved her family, her friends and was a fiercely competitive card player. She was a very loving mother, and her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri with Brad Drummond of Lancaster, Missouri officiating and being assisted by Jake Levett, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church. Music will be special selections of "In The Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone." Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund or Schuyler County Ambulance District. A private family burial will be in the Campground Cemetery, southeast of Downing, Missouri at a later date as the body has been cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
