Barbara Ann (Cooper) Prough
December 29, 1934 – March 13, 2013

Barbara Ann (Cooper) Prough, 78 of Greentop, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.

The daughter of Frank L. and Alice J. (Tudor) Cooper, she was born on December 29, 1934 in Greentop, Missouri. On February 4, 1951 at the home of the Reverend Perley Lind in Queen City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Max R. Prough who survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William F. and Edward Gene Cooper.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Max Prough of Queen City, Missouri; one daughter, Debra Ledford and husband, Bob of Greentop, Missouri; one son, Michael C. Prough and wife, Susan of St. John, Indiana; one sister, Peggy Spencer and husband, Ken of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandsons, Michael Ledford and wife, Felicia of Mulberry, Florida and Jason Ledford and wife, Amanda of Reed Springs, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Josie Ledford; a brother-in-law, Lala Prough and wife, Linda of Greentop, Missouri; nieces, Cindy Bowers and husband, Craig of Greentop, Missouri, Sherry Smoyer and husband, Larry of Kirksville, Missouri, Patty Prough of Quincy, Illinois and Pam Lutz and husband, John of Greentop, Missouri.

Barbara served as Mayor of Greentop for several years and was an active member of the Greentop Baptist Church. She attended the Greentop Grade and High School.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri with Robert Beeler, Pastor of the Greentop Baptist Church officiating. Music will be provided by Jolene Sublett singing "Amazing Grace". Memorials have been established for the Greentop Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri.
