Ava Darlene (Ferguson) Lancaster, 88, of Glenwood, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Ava Darlene was born September 25, 1934 at home, north of Brashear to Clarence and Sadie LaVern (Ammerman) Ferguson. Darlene married M.R. "Bud" Lancaster on June 15, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Bud Lancaster of Glenwood, Missouri; 1 daughter, Debbie McGoldrick of Lancaster, Missouri; 1 son Russell Lancaster and wife, Theresa of Glenwood, Missouri; 1 sister-in-law, Connie Gray of Columbia, Missouri; 5 grandsons, Mike McGoldrick and wife, Marti of Glenwood, Missouri, Jeff McGoldrick of Lancaster, Missouri, Kevin Buckallew and wife, Kara of Lancaster, Missouri, Casey Lancaster and wife, Paula of Glenwood, Missouri, Kelly Buckallew and wife, Molly of Memphis, Missouri; 1 granddaughter, Corin Mehringer and husband, Stephen of Kirksville, Missouri; 15 great grandchildren, Ashley (Zach) Whitney, Caleb (Riley) McGoldrick, Tyler (Tiffany) McGoldrick, Levi and Eliana Mehringer, Kaitlyn, Kenna, and Karson Lancaster, Ally, Sydney, Mariah and Kelsey Buckallew, Trayton Buckallew, Jessica Morrow, Jace (Julie) Morrow and 4 great great grandchildren, Callum Whitney, Madelynn McGoldrick, Natalie McGoldrick, and Everlea Morrow.

Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhoda Buckallew; her grandparents, Bill and Nora Dunham who raised her; her mother and father, Clarence and LaVern Ferguson; stepfather, Ursel Gingerich; her son-in-law, Eldon McGoldrick; Bud's parents, Marcie and Rosalee Lancaster; 2 brothers-in-law, Butch Lancaster and John Gray; 2 sisters-in-law, Marilyn Magee and Cora Lancaster.

Bud and Darlene moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1952, moved to Tulare, California in 1957 and lived there until 1964 when they moved back to Glenwood, Missouri to help her stepfather farm. Darlene said the only thing she ever wanted to achieve in life was to be a good wife to Bud, a good mother to her children and to make a happy home. Darlene was very proud of her family.

As per Darlene's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services as her body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Glenwood Cemetery or the Willmathsville Cemetery and can be mailed to Norman Funeral Home at P. O.
