Annie Darlene Laws

Annie Darlene Laws, 78 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Downing, Missouri, passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday, May 30, 2015.
The daughter of Charles Franklin and Rosa Jewel (Smith) Laws, she was born on June 6, 1936 in rural Downing, Missouri. She was a graduate from the Downing High School in Downing, Missouri. She was employed with the Garment Factory in Memphis, Missouri for approximately 22 years until it closed in 1995.
Survivors include her brother, LaVerne Laws and wife, Sheridan of Downing, Missouri; one half sister, Jean Marie Miller of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two half brothers, Chester Lee Laws and wife, Yosonda of Iowa City, Iowa and Charles Junior Laws of Bluegrass, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Susan Davis of Washington, Iowa, Larry Laws of North Liberty, Iowa, Gerald Eiffert and wife, Donna of Carlinville, Illinois, Jamie Eiffert and wife, Sandy of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Connie Duran of California, Janet Peterson of California, Richard Tenneyson of California, Donna Laws of Illinois, Michael Laws of Iowa and Linda Ault and husband, Rusty of Merriam Woods, Missouri; several great nieces and nephews including Jerald Morlock and wife, Amie of Independence, Missouri, Dakota Morlock of Wathena, Kansas, Cheyenne Morlock of Marceline, Missouri, Kelli Morlock of Columbia, Missouri, Samantha Ault of Merriam Woods, Missouri and Ashlyn Laws of Glenwood, Missouri and other family members.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; 1 half sister, Charlene Simmons and husband, Raymond; 1 sister-in-law, Vivian Laws; 3 nephews, John Laws, Jerry Morlock and Allen Laws.
Darlene was a member of the Downing Methodist Church in Downing, Missouri and attended the Lancaster Methodist Church when she moved to Lancaster, Missouri. She was also a member of the Chit Chat Club of Downing, Missouri.
Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed the nieces and nephews but above all, she had a faithful dog companion, Gizmo!

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "In The Garden" and "Some Glad Morning". Pallbearers will be Jamie Jackson, Jerry Scurlock, Vaughn Ruth, John Scurlock, Rodney Newland and Randy Whitlow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Campground Cemetery, east of Downing, Missouri. Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.
